Hiya! It has been a while, hasn’t it?

We’ve been two very busy recruiters in the last year, but are finally taking some time to get back on the news writing pony.

We’ve been busy doing what we do best – chatting to people, being recruitment match makers, drinking lots of tea and squeezing in daily dog walks between CV edits and Zoom meetings. We’re proud to say that our 15^th year in business (June 2025-May 2026) is proving to be our best for many years. No mean feat, when it’s just the two of us here, working hard, giving a personal service, doing things the more traditional way.

We’re steadfast in resisting the cheap (or not so cheap, apparently) thrills and attractions of AI or process automation in our recruitment workflow, which is constantly being flogged to us. We still think a human approach is best, so if you’re one of our candidates, you’ll know we love gassing to you on the phone, getting to know you and telling you all about the role(s) we have available for you. Clients, you know we don’t fling CVs at you on spec or use ChatGPT to fire incessant sales emails at you. It’s just not us. Call us old-fashioned, but I guess we are!

This year, Gemma will have been working in recruitment for 25 years, 83.33% of her whole working life. As for me, Kate (hi), I’ve been at it for 14 years this year, pretty much the entirety of my working life. Mad! So, I guess we’ve earned the right to feel like old hands at what we do, by now.

Having said that, our curious natures, our joy of working with people, learning about individuals’ stories, and companies’ histories and their futures haven’t dulled over the years. We’re still enthusiastically nerdy about learning, getting to know people, and we get the same buzz out of ensuring the I’s are dotted, and the T’s are crossed in everything we do.

So, whilst we’ve been quiet across socials and our news page, be assured, we’re still here, doing what we do fabulously well, and enjoying (nearly) every minute of it.
